GUNNING FOR A CURE
Gunning for a Cure is an annual sporting clays competition, hosted by Stella, designed to raise funds for prostate cancer research. Our mission is to improve the health of men by discovering the means to better treat prostate cancer, while ultimately aiming to develop a cure for those with advanced disease.
A full day of activities for participants and their families, this event is something our community looks forward to each year. Our Clay Shooting competition begins early in the morning, with a welcome by Dr. Sartor. As we move into the afternoon, a delicious spread is unveiled along with bouncy houses, kids competitions, raffles, live & silent auctions, and so much more.

BOYS HOPE GIRLS HOPE
Boys Hope Girls Hope helps academically capable and motivated children-in-need to meet their full potential and become men and women by providing value centered, family-like homes, opportunities and education through college.
Stella hosts the children of Boys Hope Girls Hope annually to tour the expansive grounds and teach about the local agriculture of our great state. At our latest event the children and chaperones along with Ms. Sally Duplantier, the widow of the co-founder of the New Orleans chapter, Judge Adrian Duplantier, were welcomed to Stella for a crawfish boil and day of outdoor activities. The boys enjoyed playing football while the girls practiced cheerleading and gymnastic routines on Stella’s grounds. They were all then treated to a wagon ride and nature hike through the Stella woods.
CHARITABLE PHEASANT HUNTS
Over the years, Stella has hosted numerous charitable pheasant hunts to support local politicians, churches, schools, community centers and more.
