Speechlessly in Love
This wedding was a unique one because our beautiful bride was also a silent bride. Amanda had a case of laryngitis on her big day. Even so, it was an absolutely beautiful day at Stella Plantation and although her voice was lost, the love between Amanda and Jacob was not. Check out the pictures from their big day and read from Amanda's perspective how everything fell into place!
The most memorable part of the day for me was seeing Jacob for the first time. There was a lot of anticipation throughout the day, so seeing Jacob at the first look made me so much more at ease and ready for the ceremony and reception. It was a beautiful moment I'll always cherish between the two of us. Jacob said his most memorable moment was marrying the person he loves :)
My favorite piece of décor was actually the arch that we used for the ceremony. We decided to buy our own arch, so we could place it in our backyard after the wedding as a memento of our big day. We also had the florist, Herb Oldknow, decorate the arch, and it came out beautifully.
We love Stella because we knew we wanted somewhere outside and away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Jacob is a nature/garden enthusiast, so when we saw all the lovely oak trees, we were sold!
Walking down Oak Row as our aisle was actually his idea because he loved the oak trees so much.
My favorite part of the day was celebrating with everyone at the reception (mainly dancing with our awesome band, Nola Dukes!). Jacob's favorite part was simply having all our family and friends together in a nice outdoor atmosphere with the feelings of old and new at Stella.
When planning our wedding, we wanted to focus on a vintage outdoor theme. We wanted the day to focus on love and not get caught up in too many decorative or flashy pieces (although they can be gorgeous). We found the natural beauty of Stella Plantation worked perfectly with our vision!
Although I didn't have much of a voice for our wedding (laryngitis at its finest), I think everyone could still feel the love between Jacob and me on that perfect day and will remember our wedding as the one with the silent bride! Plus, it was entertaining for everyone to guess what I was trying to say or laugh at my robotic sounding text-to-speech app!
