A "Non-Traditional" New Orleans Wedding Celebration for Mike & Beth

Mike & Beth, New Orleans locals, were such fun to plan with! With Beth being a local wedding vendor and the pair attending numerous weddings of their friends and families, they wanted a relaxed, non-traditional event that would combine all their favorite party aspects into a perfect party for them and 300 of their friends and family. A mid-day event that incorporated plenty of day drinking, amazing music, and fantastic food.

The Bride and her maids had a beautiful AirBnB to ready themselves in before the wedding festivities began. They were expertly pampered by the Bride's colleagues from Carpe Diem Salon and Kate Malone Makeup. The ladies wore a combination of pink & white as the attendants of the bride. The Groom and his men prepared at a friend's home close to the church and donned their custom Seersucker Suits created by Haspel Clothing (the originator of the Seersucker Suit!) The all looked very dapper indeed!

The beautiful boutineers and the bride's lush bouquet were created by Poppy & Mint Floral Company, along with the exquisite reception decor.

Beth customized her Paloma Blanca gown with a textured floral top. Creative and stunning!

The couple said their vows at the beautiful Rayne Memorial United Methodist Church with their friends and family looking on. Then Dark Roux Photography took Mike & Beth on a on a hunt of the stunning stained glass!

After a quick "moving cocktail party" the wedding party arrived for some whimsical photos at Stella Plantation and Mike & Beth ran around taking their bridal portraits (literally).

Mike & Beth's 36 person wedding party posed for photos under Stella's oaks.

A dear friend of the Bride's created a watercolor of her interpretation of the 250-year-old oak trees at Stella based on a photo that Beth took during her tour. This painting served as the inspiration for the invitation suite, decor, and cake! The save the date included a favorite phrase of the bride's late grandfather in the handwriting of her late grandmother. The gold foil continued on to the invitations and Laurel M Buras hand painted each of the invitations, ceremony & rsvp cards.

The theme continued into the Harold Pavilion with the simple yet elegant centerpieces created with greenery and candles - as well as an elaborate ceiling piece with greenery dripping off of custom structures created by Luminous Events.

The couple wanted the reception to feel like an all day, outdoor party with pure fun & relaxation for every guest. The food was presented by 4 different vendors for the effect. 12 Seasons Catering provided the well stocked bar (with copious amounts of Bud Light for the Groom) as well as the delicious passed appetizers including BBQ Ribs, Chicken & Waffle Cones, Crawfish Beignets, Artichoke Bites, Boudin Bites, Crab Maenza & Local Crawfish, Andouille, and Alligator Sausages.

Pizzas were grilled up to order from the awesome and tasty Theo's Pizza Truck while Frencheeze Food Truck offered up amazing made to order sandwiches. Two Girls One Shuck served the most amazing raw & char-grilled oysters, an absolute favorite of the Bride.

The collection of desserts was a great display of the couple as well! The cakes from Mad Batter Bakery ranged from elegant to comical. The wedding cake was inspired by the same water color as the invitations, while the "bread loaf" cake was an inside joke among the Groom & his buddies. The cookies represented the Groom's alma mater & the Bride's profession.

Rockin' Doopsie absolutely brought the house down and kept the dance floor packed all night. Doopsie has an incredible talent for making stars of even the most shy guests.

A sparkling send off took the couple to their vintage T-Bird - a gift from the Groom's Grandfather - affectionately dubbed "Gramps."

The Groomsmen dutifully tied Bud Light cans to the bumper for a proper send off.

From the Bride: "Stella was the perfect place to celebrate my wedding! As a New Orleans native and wedding vendor, I've seen dozens of area venues. When it came to planning my own wedding reception, I wanted something that would be new and special to me, something that had an authentic feel and that met my budget. I was unfamiliar with Stella and skeptical when my fiance suggested it, but as soon as we stepped on the property, I saw the potential. When we met Caroline Parrone, the deal was sealed. The location is remarkably convenient, the beautiful site is framed by live oaks that could be nowhere else but south Louisiana, the atmosphere is relaxed and Caroline is a consummate professional. She was a steady presence during the planning and perfectly managed things on the day of our reception. She accommodated our requests over the months of planning, steered us in the right direction for finding vendors for everything from the wedding cake to table decorations and even found a florist to make up three overlooked bridesmaids bouquets just hours before our wedding ceremony. Thanks to Caroline, we had the perfect celebration of our wedding day at Stella--a wonderful party in a beautiful place. I give Stella and Caroline my highest recommendation."

From the MOB: "Stella was a wonderful place for our daughter's wedding reception. Caroline did an excellent job for us, beginning with the first day of planning over a year before the wedding and continuing until the event was over and the last bus pulled out of the parking lot. She is a true professional and gave us excellent direction every step of the way, even when we dropped the ball or wandered off course. She understands that people and families are imperfect, but the event must go on! She even saved us on the morning of the wedding when we realized we needed more bouquets! We are grateful to Caroline and extremely happy we chose such a beautiful and gracious place as Stella for our daughter's reception."
