Abby & Andrew

On a crisp December Saturday, Abby & Andrew gathered their family and friends from Texas to Tennessee for a beautiful Louisiana wedding day. On December 10, 2016 (it had to be after college football season and both the couple and the families are avid fans), Abby & Andrew said "I Do" under the 250-year old oak trees at Stella Plantation.

Abby's gown is a Pronovias Lessen, purchased on the “sale rack” and needed no altering except the bride chose to remove the train. The bridal salon had never seen a dress fit so perfectly when trying on for the first time, off the rack. The bride chose to wear her “Something Blue” Manolo Blahnik’s she received as a gift for the ceremony and then changed into her cowboy boots for the reception. She was given the white pearl set from her parents prior to the wedding and added the brown pearl set from her grandmother for the reception.

Bridesmaids’ dresses: Each of the Bridesmaids wore the navy dress that Abby wore in their weddings. It was a special touch that meant a lot to the bride and her bridesmaids (and all happened to be navy!). Each bridesmaid was given earrings from Kendra Scott, each different colors and styles, featuring white, orange, and maroon (the couple’s college team colors).

Andrew chose each of the groomsmen's suits so that each had a personal style. The FOB wore one Tennessee Volunteer sock and one Texas A&M sock to represent the merging of the couple- he is A&M and she is UT. The groom was also presented with a small pin for his internal chest pocket featuring his grandfather and the bride’s two grandfathers that have passed away so they would be close to Abby & Andrew's hearts.

The Flower girls (5 total) had white petals to throw and one carried a sign “Uncle Andrew, here comes your bride”) made by the bride and groom’s grandmother. The couple chose to have some DIY yourself décor and simple décor to allow for the beautiful venue to speak for itself. The ceremony isle had 1 Cor 13 verses along the way, along with simple mason jars with baby’s breath.

The reception table décor was done by the bride’s cousins and includes mason jars with baby’s breath and orange tiger lilies, burlap runners, and wooden tree bases. The “A&A” sign was cut out by the brides’ father to be displayed on their table. The wooden “ATA” was chosen to replace the guest book, for everyone to sign. The couple’s dog could not make the trip, but was included via a canvas print on the guest table “I loved him first”! The chalkboard signs were made by the groom’s mother and handwritten by the bride.

After a sparkler farewell from the guests, the bride & groom made a getaway on the groom's Harley!

From the Bride: (5 star review) "We had our destination wedding at Stella Plantation for 70 of our closest friends and family. We chose this venue/location as it was "half way" for our Tennessee and Texas sides. It was perfect!! Our families stayed in the main house for the weekend and it was a great gathering point for everyone. The guys loved the Cook House to get ready and the girls got ready (along with the flower girls, family, etc) at the Guest House. We also stayed there for our wedding it. It was amazing and beautiful! The weather was a bit chilly, but with the sun shining and the trees glowing, it was perfect! The tent is fabulous and Caroline did an amazing job making sure everything was taken care of.......right down to getting a motorcoach from NOLA onto the ferry!! I couldn't have asked for a better venue and it will forever be special to us."
