Groups can pick and choose from a selection of several exclusive activities or choose a package to make it easy for you and your group to immerse yourselves in Louisiana’s unique resources. Private adventures, experienced guides, and custom programs can be designed to suit.
Our vast outdoor space and multiple accommodations offers private group activities that engage you with the beautiful wildlife and landscape of Stella. Unique to us is our signature Catch & Boil Crawfish package, where you can catch your own crawfish out of Stella's very own crawfish ponds, then enjoy a private on-site crawfish boil. You may feel the call of the wild and go on a leisurely walk or bike ride through Stella’s forested grounds. We know that each group has varied interests and therefore we offer a flexible package that you can customize to suit your individual interests. Send part of your group on a wagon ride to view Stella's 1,500 acre landscape while another part plays lawn games or practices yoga under the oak trees.
CATCH & BOIL CRAWFISH
Get hands-on experience catching and learning all about Louisiana’s favorite freshwater crustaceans, the crawfish. You and your group will take a rustic wagon ride through Stella's beautiful 1,500 acres as you head back to the diverse habitat that is home to much of Louisiana’s most recognized wildlife. Upon reaching the crawfish ponds, two by two, take turns on our specially designed crawfishing boats to experience one of the oldest Louisiana traditions.
Guests will have the opportunity to lift the traps from the water, collect the crawfish, bait and replace the traps to the pond, or watch as the fishermen demonstrate. While you crawfish, the remainder of the group will be set up under the shady oak trees that line the ponds with a delicious boil of Stella’s own crawfish. Our crawfish have a stellar reputation of always being red, spicy, big and delicious! A Stella Boil includes crawfish, corn, potatoes, mushrooms, garlic, sausage, and onions as well as a full bar. Enjoy local cuisine at its freshest in the very spot it is caught.
PRIVATE HIKING & BIKING TRAILS
Wander through the vast grounds and trails and soak in the tranquility and beauty of Stella. The diverse terrain may allow for a glimpse at Louisiana’s well-known wildlife depending on your chosen speed. The staff at Stella can prepare you for the day with mountain bike rentals or bring your own.
LAWN GAMES
Stella’s beautiful lawns are perfect for a friendly game of horseshoes, Ladder Golf, Corn Hole, Lawn Jenga and Connect 4. Perfect for enjoying the beautiful weather and a relaxing afternoon under the 250-year-old oaks.
LANDSCAPES TOUR
This 2.5 hour guided tour will take you deep into the heart of Stella. On your picturesque wagon ride you will head back to the diverse habitat that is home to much of Louisiana’s most recognized wildlife. For the avid photographer have our Stella tour guides customize the experience and take you to the most picturesque areas of the property. Add an expert guide and learn about the levees, high ridges, Stella’s farm land and more.
BIRD WATCHING
Stella is host to a vast variety of both migrating and native birds. Bring your binoculars and feast your eyes on populations of wintering waterfowl, neotropical beauties like warblers and orioles and native species like blue herons, great egrets, red-tailed hawks, bald eagles, snipe and cormorants. CITRUS PICKING
We are proud to be a fully operational farm, producing some of Louisiana’s finest citrus produce. Spend a few hours at our Satsuma or Navel Orange groves, picking your own citrus. Take your harvest home or pair the experience with our “Live Off the Land” Dinner, and have our expert caterers make you an exquisite and memorable meal for you and your group.
SKEET SHOOTING
Skeet shooting is a recreational and competitive activity where participants, using shotguns, attempt to break clay targets mechanically flung into the air from fixed stations at high speed from a variety of angles. At Stella, 5 stand shooters take turns at each of the 5 stands, shooting three combinations then rotating to the next stand.
